Despite the worldwide recession, I’m finding that this is still the case. We must be rich – people aren’t stealing the TP (reality: it’s usually locked up pretty well – you’d have to be fairly motivated).

Last month, we went camping. As usual, the restrooms were surprisingly non-smelly, and the exteriors were… surprisingly clean. Of all the photos that weekend, this was my favorite.

If there is a lesson in life, it is that you should always be prepared. For example, you should always take an extra oar or paddle with you if you’re going out on a boat. Otherwise, you may end up stranded on the far side of lake.

For example, you might be in a boat with an electric motor. In Alaska. And on a cold, rainy day. And end up having to swim the entire lenght to get back.

What’s worse, is you might end up getting left behind while your wife pulls it back to shore for you.

So really, always be prepared.

(some blurring to protect the innocent)

Swimming back to shore

On a photographic note: I was prepared. I had one of my small (Canon G11) cameras with me.

Check out his post, and especially his photographs. When’s the last time you’ve seen a moose carcass like that? Awesome!

While you’re at it, check out his site. He’s a local realtor and I’m sure he’d love some feedback. And if you’re in the market for a home in Anchorage, I’m sure he’d love the business!
